BREAKING NEWS……….
Homelink has added yet another accolade to its cabinet. This time it has been awarded the much coveted Best Corporate Identity Award at the just ended Sanganai/Hlanganani Zimbabwe Travel and Tourism Africa Fair.
Speaking during the exhibition, the General Manager for Marketing and Business Development Division, Ms P. K Sadomba said Homelink has role to play in promoting tourism in Zimbabwe.
“Homelink is driven by its mission to mobilise foreign currency for the country in line with international best practices, through the creation and promotion of investments, products and services for Zimbabweans at home and abroad,” she said. “Our role is not only to mobilize foreign currency but also to promote investments at home through packaging investment products for non resident Zimbabweans.”
Ms Sadomba said that Zimbabwe’s tourism sector is one unexploited sector where non resident Zimbabweans can invest in considering the vast potential it has to lure regional and international tourists. In addition to that, she said, the 2010 Soccer World Cup presents another big opportunity for the Zimbabwean tourism market.
In August this year, Homelink won the Best Commercial Exhibit at the Harare Agricultural Show. Both awards come at a time when Homelink has adopted a new strategic shift which has seen it opening new offices in South Africa and the United Kingdom. Plans are currently underway to open other offices in Australia, New Zealand and the United States of America. In addition to that, Homelink is currently renovating its offices in Harare and Bulawayo to cater for its money transfer business.
In a related development, Homelink recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with telecommunications giant, Econet Wireless. The agreement will see Homelink distributing the foreign currency denominated scratch card dubbed the International Calling Card. The cards are available at all Homelink offices and selected RBZ Foreign Exchange Purchasing Centres.
