About the Call Centre
It was agreed that Diasporans required information on stock exchanges, stockbrokers and companies doing business. They also needed to organise themselves so that they could club together to make substantial investments in companies back home. Situated at No. 72 Samora Machel Avenue, the Homelink Customer Care Centre is strategically located in the Central Business District close to the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

The Homelink Centre houses two divisions namely:

- Marketing and Communications Division and
- Homelink Investments and Money Transfers Division.

Each department has dedicated staff that have the requisite skills and experience in their specific areas to cater for all clients and potential ones. So far the majority of business being conducted at the Homelink Centre is to do with the recently introduced Homelink Housing Development Scheme (HHDS). Since this project was introduced by the Central Bank, there has been a resounding response from potential participants wishing to access loans to purchase, build or develop their properties.

In line with Homelink's strategy to provide a convenient service, the Homelink Centre was set up to deal with the huge volumes of enquiries that have been received as a result of the Housing Development Scheme. Mrs Stellamaris Chorirwa, Divisional Head
for Investments and Money Transfers, reported that the office has been inundated with calls and e-mails from the Diaspora and locals who have walked into the centre to get further information on HHDS.

Since opening the Homelink Centre there have been numerous enquiries about the Housing Development Scheme. As a result a number of applications have already been processed with several Zimbabweans having accessed funds to purchase their homes, she explained. While the HHDS has been dominant, the Centre will also cater for other products under Homelink, including money transfers and investments. Homelink will be a platform for Zimbabweans at home and abroad to propose viable investment opportunities.

These proposals will be handled by the Homelink Centre's investments department. Other Homelink products such as the Foreign Currency Denominated Bonds will also be marketed and delivered through the Homelink Centre. Eventually, the Homelink Centre will become a one stop shop providing all the necessary assistance and services regarding Homelink. That is the objective of establishing the centre and it should achieve this goal in a short period of time, said Mrs Chorwira at the Africa Diaspora Investment Forum.
