Mr Alfred Evrate Makwarimba
Mr Makwarimba spent more than 15 years with the Trade Union Movement. He was appointed the first President of Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) in 1981.

Notable during his tenure in his chairing of the workers' committee between 1970 and 1981 he was invited to Russia and Geneva where he was representing workers. In that capacity, he was exposed to a number of issues relating to workers. Mr Makwarimba has served on various boards.

Among the many boards on which he has served, he is also an advisor in the Cotton Marketing Board of Zimbabwe. He is also trained in the Accounting field. He has a vast wealth of experience stretching back 10 years. He worked for the Cecil Hotel in Bulawayo for many years where he was in the Accounting sector.

He was educated at Mpopoma High School where he also specialized in Accounting. Mr Makwarimba is married with three children. He enjoys reading and travelling.
